I was raped on leave, by a non-mililtary member. I am reminded of my attacker every time i see certain people. I don't feel like the navy or my chain of command is doing everything in its power to help me.

  1. Go to http://www.mynavyonline.com they will be sure to help you and also tell you the process of taking care of this matter. Good luck!

  2. you need to go see a mental heath care provider.  they will assist you with getting over the anxieties of your rape as well as provide sexual assult counseling and test to ensure you are not pregnant or carrying an STD.

  3. See a psychiatrist and make it obvious to him/her that you are unsuited to military service.

  4. don't hurt yourself by not getting help but please to be careful, unforunately you can get discharged in this casemy husband and i had a friend who had the same thing happen two years ago and the deemed to to mentally unstable to continue

  5. I'm truly sorry you have to deal with this.  I was in the Air Force so I have *some* idea of how you are not being helped.  The Health and Wellness department (or whatever it's called in the Navy) is not there to heal you but to save the Military money.  Try a Chaplain.  Hopefully you can find one with a conscience.

  6. Go see the psychiatrist and see if they can help you.

  7. Of course the Navy is asking you to get over it.   They need you.

Keep pushing the issue, either you will get discharged or treated.

  8. Get over your rape faster?  What a bunch of morons.

Some good therapy would be to find the s*****k who did this to you and skin him alive.

In the mean time check yourself into Mental Health at your base hospital.  The people there are trained to help you.

  9. Talk to your base psychiatrist or military chaplain.

  10. I am so sorry.  A good friend of mine was raped by another service member while she was in the Navy.  She reported it, and the Navy did absolutely nothing!  She pressed the issue, because the guy lived down the hall from her, and the Navy moved her living quarters.  It was moved to the apt. on the left of the attacker.  She was living to the right of his apt. prior to the attack.  She went higher up on the chain of command, and he basically told her to grow up and act like an adult.  He said, she was being to emotional about the situation.  She went to the next person in the chain of command, and he had my friend discharged.  The Navy has a reputation for "brushing things under the rug" so to say, and dealing with rape, head on.

Hang in there; I too am a victim of rape.  I know it is hard to cope with everyday things.  It was for me too.  As time goes on though, you will slowly heal and become a stronger person out of it.

  11. did they get the guy,if so you would have to be available for court anyway, they should give you leave to resolve this,
