The needle hits the plastic plate in the bottom of...

the needle is hitting the bottom plastic of the shuttle. It skips stiches and then stops sewing completely. It looks like it's not lined up where the groove is in the bottom of the shuttle and the needle wants to go to the bottom before the groove is so it's scraped about 1/4" before the groove.
