  1. In Saudi Pinoys usually have high college degrees and their Western bosses may not. So you have a BA holder making $300 a month and his American boss is just an AS holder making $3000 a month. It is frustrating.

  2. i agree with the answer above.

being treated like an atm by own family. a lot of people believe that most (if not all) ofws live in luxury and that family members are automatically entitled to wide-screen tvs and a hefty monthly spending allowance. and worse, if we're unable to send money or a balikbayan box, we're branded as selfish, arrogant ingrates.

  3. definitely...it would be longing of the worker for his or her families... homesick because they're the ones who are far from their loved ones...

another is the heavy responsibilty... because they are the ones working abroad... it is also their obligation to support their families left in the country... it is really hard especially most people think that if a person is working abroad, they have alots of money which is not true because each cent is coming from the harwork of the person and is not being asked for...

  4. The loneliness of being away from your family and friends

  5. ur relatives think ur rich and asks for money like it is candy. being away from ppl u love. no fishball/isaw stand.

  6. the traumatic experience that these people face with their cruel employers

  7. People think you have lots and lots of money to waste.

  8. The negative side of  being  an OFW, is that, when people hear that you are working abroad, people would assume right away  that you are working either as domestic helper, care giver or an entertainer. This is so true if you are female.

Another one , is that, your family and friends back home also assume that  working abroad means easy money.  They forget that you  have to sweat it out first  in order to be paid. They  would expect that you would regularly send them money every month and packages  during Christmas.

  9. Just having to work far far away only to provide for their family, so sad. That's why I keep mentioning that the Philippines needs to concentrate on building a much better competitive economy. So that way everyone can stay and work near their homes.

  10. NegativeSide= homesick, you have to obey your employer to train you properlly what you have to do as work, you feel outcast for a while , food does not taste the same & you may feel lost outside becuase of new faces. PositiveSide=  the goverment in the philippines can not provide more jobs thats why Filipinos are so strong & smart willing to find a way to improve their living standards! And most of all you do it for your love ones especially your wife & your children !!

  11. breakup of the family unit
