The new Renault car is at "the brave end of brave"- James Allison
The technical director of Renault, James Allison calls his 2011 car’s design to be at "the brave end of brave". Allison believes that this car is far better equipped than the team’s 2010 package.
While talking to the media, all the teams described their cars as ‘super-speed machines’. The Williams believe that their next car is really "aggressive" while McLaren reckons its car to have "fresh design features". Beating all his rivals’ stories Allison
calls the Renault car to be a “brave” one.
While talking to the media earlier today he said, "This time of year is a heady mix of both thrilling excitement of confirming that all your plans have come to fruition and also abject terror that you will not deliver the thing in time. Anyone who follows
the sport will have seen that words like 'aggressive' and 'brave' are being bandied across several of the teams this year for their solutions, I believe that we have chosen a direction that is on the brave end of brave."
The 2011 season will be seeing several novelties on the track. The cars will use the Kinetic Energy Recovery Systems (KERS) this year and also the new adjustable front wing will be introduced in the sport. All this is going to help the drivers have more
overtaking moves on the track, thus increasing action and drama on the tracks. Moreover, the biggest challenge for the drivers and teams this season will be the introduction of new Pirelli tyres.
While talking about the car’s developments, Allison insisted that Renault had prioritised all the new features in its next design. "The top rear wing, for the first time since the 1960s, is allowed to be adjusted whilst the car is in motion. The idea behind
that is that it will improve the overtaking opportunities on the track and improve racing. Making sure that we have a reliable, high-performance adjustable top rear wing has been a key priority for us,” he said.
Although, the 2010 season has not been a brilliant one for Renault, yet it is looking forward to a stronger season ahead. The team announced that its aim for this season is to bag a few race wins and as many podiums as it can. The Chief operating officer
Patrick Louis believes that the restructuring process that it has recently undergone will certainly make it more competitive on the 2011 grids.
