The new World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton leads the Power 25 - WWE News
The new WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Randy Orton, is on top of the Power 25 list of WWE Superstars. The Academy of Wrestling Arts and Science calculates The Power 25 list on the basis of a wrestler’s power in the ring, victories, the opponent’s power,
the events importance and the overall in-ring dominance every Saturday.
The Viper took the World Championship victory against Christian in Friday Night SmackDown. The title victory moved Orton to first place on the list. Moreover, Orton also won the Last Man Standing Match against CM Punk on May, 1 at Extreme Rules.
Orton was placed third in the Power 25 list on 23th April. Back then he took over the third place after his WrestleMania XXVII rematch victory over Punk on 18th April’s Raw edition. The New Nexus members David Otunga, Michael McGillicutty
and Mason Ryan also attacked him after the match. Punk tried to overtake Orton but was treated with an RKO by The Viper.
On 25th April, WWE Drafts results were unveiled on Monday Night Raw. Orton was drafted to SmackDown and The Viper also fought a match on Monday Night Raw against Dolph Ziggler. Orton smashed Dolph Ziggler and walked back to the locker room with
a win. It was the last match the sizzling entertainer had on Raw before he left.
On April 29th, Orton appeared on SmackDown after five years after the draft. While he was giving his comments on being added to the SmackDown roster, Drew McIntyre interrupted him. McIntyre tried to hit a Future Shock DDT but The Viper escaped
and treated him with a devastatingly quick RKO. Orton again started talking about SmackDown but was interrupted by Alex Riley this time. Before Riley could say anything, he was also honoured with a stunning RKO by Orton.
Alberto Del Rio, Who was moved to Raw roster in the Drafts results, disrupted Orton and tried to steal the SmackDown limelight. The SmackDown General Manager, Theodore Long, set up a tag team match between Christian along with Orton and Del Rio along with
Brodus Clay. Orton and Christian graciously won the tag team match and Orton delivered another RKO to claim his first SmackDown victory.
The amazing victories, in Raw and SmackDown editions in the previous week, took The Viper to first place in the list on April 30. Orton retained his first place this week with his tremendous performance. The Viper was lucky enough to get the title and lead
the WWE superstars and a whole set of wrestlers await to their chance to topple the superstar.
