The new gold coast team is demanding 20 out of the first 24 draft picks in the 2010 draft?

What is your opinion on that and do you think the established clubs will stand for it?

Yes, I heard that as well. That's why teams have started tanking - to get a couple of good young players before the 2010 draft.

Carlton did it last year, Melbourne this year.........& the way Collingwood played last week, they may be doing the same!

It's pretty unfair for everyone really. If it was a c**p draft year, the gold coast club could be dudded for a very long time.

If it's a superdraft then the bottom teams would miss out as they would only get 1 pick from the first 25.  

But it's the players that'll suffer because if you're 1 of the best 24 players from that draft, you'll have a 5 in 6 chance of going to the Gold coast team and away from home

You got teams 'tanking' to get draft picks,and now these new clubs want to come in and get the top 20 picks..

Gee why dont they get a grip on things..

No i cant see there remaining teams standing for this.and i would'nt expect them too..get ready to hear a lot of 'whinging' but for once the 'whinging' is for a good reason...

I think it's a joke, and the new club should get draft picks over a few years, not the top 20 in one year! The other clubs definitely won't stand for it, and I say, start tanking now if you want some young guns to last you for the next few years when the new clubs are introduced!

Can anyone remember what happened when the likes of WCE, Freo, etc got when they joined? (In the nicest possible way....)

I think, as Sharon t said, the other clubs have given it a no vote, but I guess the process has to start somewhere.
