I think it is a disaster. They are taking away the skills that put rugby union above the rest.

  1. Its called evolution Bro

Rugby has evolved into a made for TV sport.

Union has been loosing viewer interest to league, Ozi rules & heaven forbid Gridiorn.

The rules have been put into place to encorage a more open flowing game that reduces the stop/start of rucks & malls.

This allows in turn for a more entertaining game that can be marketed to the masses, ie pay for view

As for me I'm all for it

    Cheers

    B.

  2. I am not sure if I am for the new rules yet or not. I have only seen a few of the games. I think i'll make my decision as it goes on a little more. So far i dont really like it.

  3. Too early to tell. Lets wait for some test match rugby - tri-nations will either be the best or worst ever this year.

  4. They're GREAT!! if you like stoppages and delays and slow ball in the ruck and mall, and hardly any running from the backs then the ELV's you wouldn't like. They bring a really quick pace to the game.Hardly any stoppages and both backlines have to be 5m back so there's lots and lots of room for running! it wont ruin rugby it's making it better!

  5. Less scrums so pacific islands can run anyone over.

  6. i like the scrum rule and the free  kicks i think its good

  7. If they are not going to be applied to international rugby you may as we be playing snooker.
