It is EASY!, America! They are an Empire though they claim not to be are expansionist, get shafted in Wars occasionally (like the Romans with the Vandals and Barbarians) and believe themselves superior.

The new Rome??? As in the new part of the city built by Mussolini in the 30's and 40's...Part of the new Rome, called Cine Citta, is the "hollywood" of Italy, where many film and tv studios are located...The new Rome was built to replicate old Romes glory...not sure it ever took off the way Mussolini envisioned.
