  1. You were just unlucky to get the faulty console. Only 0.2% (not 0.02%) of PS3's are faulty.

  2. ok how did it break they don't just break by there self at all ever my son has been having his for 1 week all ready in his has not broke what do you mean a new ps3 did you bye another one gl n take care of it more better :)ava06

  3. PS3 failure rates are "around .02 percent" according to Sony Computer Entertainment Europe founder, Chris Deering while speaking at the Edinburgh Interactive Festival on Tuesday.

If accurate, that puts PS3 failure rates well below the industry average of three to five percent.

By comparison, some reports pin Xbox 360 failure rates as high as one third of all consoles in existence. As a result, Microsoft extended the Xbox 360 warranty from one to three years in July citing "an unacceptable number of repairs" without disclosing specific failure rates.

Nintendo has yet to reveal any failure rates for the Wii.

  4. PS3s generally have a 0.02% fail rate.

So you were obviously VERY unlucky with your first one.

It's very unlikely a second one will break down on you.

  5. well since you are buying into the PlayStation brand you are buying quality and PlayStation has less than a 2.2% failure rate so your next ps3 should be fine
