The news says gustav is gonna hit west of new orleans?

if gustav hits to the west is new orleans and metairie going to be spared this time? or will the surge be enough to still flood the city

the east side of the storm is very strong I fear it may be very bad! Lets hope i'm wrong.

CHOC1:what percent of lousiana is new orleans? I guess eathquakes dont count , all I'm saying is as one of the oldest cities we asked for the nations support once & all we seem to get from fellow americans is racisim, & bias.

Wildfires only affect less than one percent of California, there is no way that you could connect the two. The fires do not affect the inner cities in Cali...it's majority open land. You never see L.A. S.D. and S.F. proper evacuating.

edit: I get what you're saying. I was just stressing that the California situation is not as serious as the Louisiana one. And New Orleans was Louisiana's most important city, the fires in Cali do not affect the major cities.

To answer Fleur de lis question if Louisiana is about 4.5 million according to recent statistics it would be smaller than Houston metro, new orleans accounts for at least 1.25 million of that so about 25% of the state.  and I sure hope wild fires don't effect 320,000 people I thought it was a lot less.  

I don't want to see anything happen to NO but Louisiana is a taker state, the state draws more money from the US than it puts in, unlike California, Texas, New York, etc.  Sorry inappropriate statement, but true.
