The next Derek Jeter – Part 2
Joe Mauer is the typical likeable star as importantly he has experience of the pressures of being a star player. Instead of holding up for ridiculously expensive contracts as a free-agent, he signed a long-term contract with the Minnesota Twins. At 27 years
of age, he has achieved quite some honours which include the esteemed Most Valuable Player Award and three batting titles. Mauer is a tremendous baseball player and looks to be growing in confidence every game. His talent allows him to quite possibly becoming
the next big superstar of MLB.
David Rice of the Tampa Bay Rays has to be one of the most humble baseball players in recent MLB history. He is a brilliant pitcher with a tremendous amount of skill and talent. He is well respected and is known to be a simple down to earth type of player.
Rice is looking towards become one of the premier pitchers in baseball. His dedication and hard work are commendable attributes that one looks for in a potential superstar.
Adrian Gonzalez of the Boston Red Sox is an extremely talented baseball player. He has the ability of changing the tide of a game single handedly. Adrian is gaining respect around the league for his confidence and winning momentum that he has the ability
to generate at will. He is looking to become the anchor of the mighty Red Sox team with his hard work and dedication. His competitive spirit shows hints of brilliance similar to that of Jeter.
Robinson Cano of the New York Yankees is one of the most talented players who definitely performs when needed. Cano is filled with talent and he has the innate ability to let it show through his tremendous on-field performances. His ability to shine on a
team that has the likes of Alex Rodriguez and Jeter in their lineup is something truly commendable.
Jason Heyward of the Atlanta Braves is a lot more mature than any other 21-year-old. His performance during spring training had the media running in circles for his attention. Heyward made it to the Opening Day roster at 20 years of age. Later he proved
to everyone his talent as he hit a three-run home-run in his first time performing in a Major League game. He is definitely a player to watch out for in the future. Heyward is already showing signs of brilliance with his amazing performances.
Dustin Pedroia of the Boston Red Sox won the American League Rookie of the Year award in his first year and was part of the team that won the World Series. Not many players can match that feat in their debut. Pedroia is an amazing baseball player with tons
of talent to back him up. His consistent performances have earned him respect from players around the League. His likeable personality has attracted a huge fan following.
Regardless of like it or not, sooner or later Jeter will retire from professional baseball. The void that he will leave behind will most likely never be completely filled, however these new young players are trying to make a mark for themselves and are growing
in confidence. There will truly never be another Jeter, but maybe there is the possibility that new superstar from amongst these newer players is born. Only time will tell which one of these players can achieve great things not only for themselves but for
their teams.
