    Mitochondria are way too big for either diffusion or active transport. And I dont think they participate in any exchange with the extracellular space through exocytosis and endocytosis.

  4. Mitochndria are the indicators of ATP production.

    Any energy linked process would have a remote connection with mitochondria and in this case ACTIVE TRANSPORT.
