It's inexplicable that the Cardinals didn't acquire a reliever. Their bullpen has been a nightmare recently. Lefties Flores, Villone and Mulder have a combined 5.04 ERA with an ungodly WHIP and OBA. And they didn't strengthen their offense, either, while the Cubs and Brewers both made big moves.

i think the rays' lives would have been a lot easier if they had been able to acquire either a lefthanded reliever or a righthanded bat...they got neither and that may hurt them in an extremely tough division, even though the red sox just got quite a bit weaker by trading manny
