With the oil price going up causing havoc in world economy what can a common man do to help the economy of the country? Bring back buggies and bicycles? declare war against the OPEC countries? sit back and pretend nothing is happening?

  1. Solution is too run our cars off of water using HHO which does work and is cheaper than gas in the long run.

  2. Break our dependency of oil, and remove big oil / politicians from office!

  3. I am playing big on oil trading. I’m from Morgan Stanly, or Goldman & Sachs, or any big firms on the Wall Street.

I bought millions and millions of barrels of oil when they cost $60--$100 a barrel. I expect to make a kill when I sell. But right now it’s only $135 a barrel. (Please tell nobody:  one day on Jan. Goldman & Sachs traded a volume of barrels = US one years import in volume)

    So here is my difficulty:

Congress is now investigating on oil speculation, I am afraid of being caught.  But if I sell them right now, I would end up with little or no profit since the trading fees and hedge fund managing cost are not cheap.

I already request my agents send  the spin out to the media, like: “Oil future looks high, expecting to be in the range of $200 a barrel soon. ”   But it does not work price up as fast as I expected.

So my question is this:  How do I corner the market price up in time so not to get caught by Congress.?

For your info:   Prof. Michael Greenberger’s testimony before Senate makes me very nervous.  He said: ‘If speculation were reined in and trading rules tightened, the cost of crude oil could drop 25 percent.” http://www.mcclatchydc.com/staff/les_blu...

My lobby firm can work Republican party to stall passing the laws, but I am not sure for how long. I am very fearful and worried. What are the options for me ? Please advise.

  4. Revert back to days of old, such as Little House on the Prarie.

  5. Pretend. . .

  6. Don't vote for that scumbag Hussein-Obama, who doesn't want to drill. Such a betrayal is on the level of Benedict Arnold.

  7. Nothing, don't get used to $4/gal for gas, it's going to be even higher by the end of the year probably $12/gal,  it's all GOOD! riots and widerspread looting across america in the horizon, that would be awesome, what a sweet revenge by OPEC, LOL!!!

  8. meh, nothing we can do. only be Eco freindly >.<

  9. We really must try to break away from the normal government reaction when confronted with a complex frustrating problem , of bomb the b**tards. The days of cheap energy are gone forever. A good start would be for everyone to recognise this and realise we are going to have to have more sustainable power sources such as nuclear power plants . wind turbines etc. There is no magic bullet to fix this one. The solution will be a combination of many things including a reduction in living standards..

  10. I'm for the horse option.

  11. how about leave this stupid question for people that really care

  12. War and avoid being so dependent on oil. There's tons of other options but people never wanted those kind of cars so we are stuck in the situation we're in now.

  13. IMO we should not drive cars for at least a week that would definitely cripple the money hungry oil economy to its ever loving knees....businesses would suffer but it would show these companies whose boss...:)

  14. Today, a panel of energy of experts testified before the House Energy and House committee.

“Testifying to the House Energy and Commerce Committee, Michael Masters of Masters Capital Management said that the price of oil would quickly drop closer to its marginal cost of around $65 to $75 a barrel, about half the current $135.”

Half of our money paid at pump goes to Wall Street speculators. And we can not hear or read main media reporting them. We are kept in the dark.

  15. you could always just lock away the ceo's for the gas companies 350 feet underground.

  16. put in wood chip burners and electric cookers and solar panel and a wind turbine

    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

  17. The oil price is a symptom of the economy.

Our use of oil and the US economic policies are what are causing havoc.  Add in India's and China's huge increases in consumption and you have another factor.

What individual's can do is conserve oil and demand alternative energy research and implementation dollars from their government.
