Copa America is fine, but it's no where as close to being a Euro Cup, the compitition is not even close, Argentina pretty much wins it everytime, and Euro is much much more competetive. Point is that the Olympics are suppost to be about being the best in the world and the soccer compitition is far from it at the Olympics

  1. Olympic football is non important to football world. Olympic football is for only Amateur. You seem you don't know much about football. Football is the best sport in the world. world cup and champions league and Euro cup is the biggest sport event in the world.

  2. well, England don't enter a team because at the Olympics, they are compete as Great Britain, and the English Football Association, Scottish FA, Welsh FA and N.I FA can't agree on sending a combined GB team to the Olympics, plus the European Football season has just started and many clubs will be reluctant to send their players to the Olympics, so that would limit alot of the European teams and probably stop them sending teams

  3. Olympic soccer is for your U-23 players.  Although the IOC allows each team carry three players over 23 (usually swan song veterans).

There is a qualification process just like the World Cup, but unlike the World Cup, there are not 32 teams, only 16 teams can qualify.

The teams from Europe that qualified were: Italy, Netherlands, Serbia & Belgium.

Africa had:  Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Cameroon

    Concacaf: USA, Honduras

    Oceania: New Zealand, Austrialia

    Asia: China, Japan, South Korea

    South America: Brazil, Argentina

The other countries you mentioned, like Germany, failed to qualify.

Also, you are wrong about South America, they have a Euro Cup equivalent called "Copa America", which is every bit as big as the European Championship on this side of the globe.

I have no problem with Olympic soccer.

EDIT:  I think you are seriously underestimating the Copa America.  Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, Columbia, not to mention guest countries like Mexico, Japan and the US.

Also, where does it say that the Olympics are supposed to be "the best".  I agree, it's not the best soccer.

  4. from my point of view ! which it could be wright or not

the best part of it is for the players.... its the CHANCE for them to shine there name skills and show it to the major leagues and clubs,,

its a show for who pay higher

then after 2 years we all gonna be amazed by the way they play in the world cup.

  5. See, I think the European countries and the Americas should both be in there, to spice the soccer world up.  The truw question is why aren't sports such as rugby, lacrosse, etc. not in the Olympics but rowing and canoeing is?  Or why is curling even considered a sport in the winter?

WTF!!! There is sychronized swimming????   There should be some definite reconsidering, the only sports i personally watch anyway are gymnastics, volleyball, and swimming.
