The olympics start tomorrow. Do all here think that the Chinese will put on the greatest opening event ever ?

Probably. Since it is at NIGHT time; the smog will be invisible. It's a 50 minute extravaganza followed by the most boring-est country by country walk.

Probably, but I never watch the opening or closing ceremonies.  Its boring at lakes too long.

I cannot wait to see the opening show as I am sure it will be the best ever.  The Chinese really want to impress the world and what better way to do it, especially after all the protests.   From what I have been reading, the government has taken most of the cars off the street in preparation of all the international visitors.  As a result, the air quality in Beijing has greatly improved, and people will not see what the standard of air quality has been prior to the Olympics.

I have no interest in the Olympics to be honest, but I hope they run smoothly without any major interruptions or problems.
