The on/off button on my iphone 3g stopped working. whats wrong?

the button on the top that turns the iphone on and off suddenly stopped working. but when i plug in my iphone to charge it turns on though. whats the matter?

its another iphone defect.

take it back and get a new one

then go to this forum and add your iphone to the list that have been returned due to a defect.

dust under the screen

dead pixels

light leak

rainbow streaks on the screen

cracked cases

The 3g iphone has a defect rating of 53% (out of 200 people asked). its not a well made phone
