I'm doing summer reading for my private school and the book is The Once and Future King. I have to complete questions and one of them Im not sure if I'm on the right track or not. It is,

What is the condition of the kingdom Arthur inherits?

If i'm correct isn't the condition somewhat of a fallen apart kingdom with no real king?

    White bases is account almost entirely on Sir Thomas Malory’s “Le Morte d’Arthur'' (and White’s own imagination).

    Britain is repreresented as broken up into a number of small kingdoms: Cornwall, Northgales (North Wales), Northumberland, Lothian, Gorre, Garlot, Estrangore, Scotland. Some of these are real places and others are only known in Arthurian tales. All (or most of) these petty kings recognized Uther Pendragon's authority as high king.

    However, they refuse to recognize Arthur as Uther’s heir. Arthur is King of Logres, which respresents approximately southern England in these stories. “Logres” is a French form of the Welsh name “Lloegyr” which, whatever its origin, means simply “England” in medieval Welsh literature.

    Arthur’s rule over Logres seems to be secure. It is his initial inability to control the outer regions of Britain that is his problem.
