The only girl in construction?

next year, when school starts again, i will be doing a construction course. now i know that it will be a little aquard being a girl, but i get along with all the guys from my school that will be doing the course next year...but my problem is...I'm not sure how the lads from the other schools will react to me being on the course, and i'm nervous that there won't be another girl on the course...

what do you think i should do?

do you think there will be another girl on the course?

how would you react if you were in my situation?

i have a strong feeling that there will be another girl in the course. There is not many gender boundries anymore. Guys are way more accepting of girls in their "fields" than in the past. Just be yourself and dont over "try" or you might come off as someone that youre not.

Girls have been in construction as years now. Good luck at it. I have found that the girls that get on and do the job are better than the ones who try to use their **** to get the job done. dress proper and don't be afraid of hard work.

I am the only female in a commercial plumbing office.  I speak to other women that are pretty much 1 of just a few in their field-I live in a city of 250,000-I believe there our 2 licensed female journeyman plumbers--, they are both kind of one of the guys, but they are  very well respected by their coworkers 99% male.  I think if you are going into a specialized field such as an electrician or plumber I think it's fine.  But I think just going into construction without a specific specialized field would be pretty grueling.  You could contact the school and ask them if their are other girls in the class.  Being in your situation in a work environment at first it was a bit awkward, but once you get past the I'm not ignorant and I don't put up with BS, I get the same respect that I give.
