Question:

The only internet/cable provider in my area is Cox Communications why isn't this considered a monopoly? ?

There are no other cable companies to choose from. In the last city I lived in there was, Knology and Comcast. What gives?

  1. ~~It seems like monopoly to me too. However here in California contracts with one cable company and that is who we are stuck with. If you have major problems you aren't able to resolve through the cable company, call your city hall and ask for the person in charge of their contract. You will get the problem resolved very quickly. This person needs to be bombarded with the complaints consumers have as they have the power to bring in a new provider.~~
