The simple truth about emotions are they all have a polar oposite. Exactly how you precieve and more importantly act on these emotions is what matters.

I don't think hatred is the opposite of love. I think the opposite of love is the complete absence of love...the lack of an emotion at all. Hatred is an emotion, and therefore has an emotional pull to action. The opposite of hatred is like that of love, the complete absence of hate, i.e., no emotional at all. Just as there can't be any temperature lower than absolute zero, there can't be any emotion lower than the complete absence of that emotion. Since the feeling of an emotion can be, and often is, deceptive, behaving and reacting solely on emotion can cause us to act in ways that we later regret. Hence, the wisdom of acting with restraint and reason.
