  1. Hymens are different for everybody.  Some women have a complete hymen.  Some are born without a hymen.  There are all kinds of variation in between, including hymens that naturally have holes or tears in them.

A hymen is really a very poor indicator of virginity, since as I said some women never have one and they can look like just about anything.  Some women retain a hymen or part of a hymen well after they've begun having s*x.

Let's stop thinking about hymens as any important signifier.  Doctors in the enlightened world know that they're useless for indicating anything.  Don't obsess over the state of your hymen.  It doesn't mean anything at all.  It will probably disintegrate on its own long before you start having s*x anyhow.  Most girls who have s*x for the first time don't bleed because there is no more hymen left to tear.  This obsession parts of our society has with bleeding during s*x and with hymens and virginity is so medieval and pointless.
