i've been a moderator for a yahoo group for well over a year now, and the owner has not only stopped moderating, her email is bouncing (she must of abandoned her Yahoo ID as well as the group). I've been moderating alone for a year now, but the group is in peril- many changes need to occur to keep the group useful. I would like to assume ownership if possible to make the necessary changes to keep the group and the thousands of members happy. How can I maintain ownership or atleast co-ownership? I am the ONLY active moderator in the last year, by the way.

  1. this depends on the priviledges given to you by the owner. unfortunately, Yahoo does not transfer ownerships of groups at this time, ever. Yahoo is aware of this MIA owner issue, many groups experience this, however they have not made public yet a manner to address it.

your best option is start a new group and invite all the members over. otherwise wait until Yahoo decides on this issue.
