  1. It is characterised by a unique odour that is often noticed during electrical storms and in the vicinity of electrical equipment. In fact, the term ozone is derived from the Greek word ozein which means "to smell." As to the exact smell i have no idea other than it gives off a pungent odour.

  2. First site below: Ozone has an odor of a fresh grass. The 'fresh, clean, spring rain' smells that we notice after a storm results from nature's creation of ozone. Ozone is the nature's way of purifying the air and water. When highly concentrated, it smells like chlorine.

Second site below:  Ozone’s characteristic odor can be smelled immediately after a lightening storm or near photocopiers, printers or electrical motors - all of which generate ozone. Its odor also has been described as the smell of clean bed sheets.

  3. Geraniums

Geraniums are listed as having  cis-rose oxide ("having an extremely diffusive, green-rosy, slightly metallic odour") in their bouquet.

  4. I heard it smelt of burning plastic...

  5. I wonder how anyone can smell it at all - it's in space and human beings can't smell it because it's poisonous (like lethal gas)
