It is characterised by a unique odour that is often noticed during electrical storms and in the vicinity of electrical equipment. In fact, the term ozone is derived from the Greek word ozein which means "to smell." As to the exact smell i have no idea other than it gives off a pungent odour.

I wonder how anyone can smell it at all - it's in space and human beings can't smell it because it's poisonous (like lethal gas)
