  1. the Ka for acetic acid is 1.75 X 10^-5  so Ka = [H+][OAc]/[ HOAc]

    1.75 X 10^-5 = [X][X]/C-X

a small amount of the acetic acid ( X ) of concentration C will ionize to give that same amount of  H+ and of Aco^-1

since the pH is 3.26 the [H+] is the antilog of that ...5.5 X 10^-4

    so C = (5.5 X 10^-4)( 5.5 X 10^-4 )/1.75 X 10^-5   C = 1.728 X 10^-2 M

    =0.0172 M  the percent ionized is 5.5 X 10^-4 /1.72 X 10^-2  X 100

    3.18 X 10^-2  X 100 = 0.318 %
