The paranormal and those who don't believe

Why do some of you people...

who don't believe in the paranormal come into this area to give out mean, sarcastic, and stupid responses for those of us who do believe? Why not just stay out of these sections???

Because they have not seen what we have seen, experienced what we have experienced.

And so they must tell us they are right ...

Kinda like me telling a mechanic how to fix my car, or a surgeon how to do his job.  

Different experiences and training, that is all.

Because in most cases, things that go bump in the night can be logically explained, yet that's not what people want to hear.

I've had a lot of strange experiences too in the house that I grew up in. Unfortunately, it was burnt down to the ground, so I have no way of trying to find a solution to some of the things I've experienced.

You may not agree with everyone in here. But then again, find a forum where everyone does.

But don't forget, everyone is entitled to their own opinions. Just like you are.

I agree. I have already made a post about that. If you don't believe in this.. and just want to come on here to be rude and say irrelevant stuff - then leave. If you do not believe, have not had any experiences and do not care to learn - then go elsewhere. No one in this section needs or cares about your input. It's like going to the religious sections and making fun of someone's religion. It's just rude, ignorant and shows your lack of intelligence.

I understand the "science" relationship behind it. And, if you are rebutting something from an intellectual point of view or scientific.. more power to you. But, if you are on here to make blanket statements "like ghosts don't exist and those who think they do are retarded" (like someone already said) then we don't need to hear from you.

ONE MORE COMMENT - For those that are calling it witchery, etc. Let's stop for a second - Catholics - when you make the sign of the cross.. what do you say? "Father, Son and the Holy Ghost" - So... hmm.. seems to me that even Catholics and Catholic priests must belive in Ghosts to some extend.. correct?

No kidding!!  I was just thinking the same thing!!!  I mean what's it to anyone else if I ask if any one psychic out there knows if I'm going to get the job I want or not?  For some reason some people seem to take offense to that and feel the need to call me stupid!!!

Intentionally mean or sarcastic answers, without something serious thrown in to answer the question, aren't that constructive. I have to admit that sometimes it's hard to resist when someone asks something really absurd. But honestly, it goes both ways. Some believers are nasty or condescending to skeptics, and some skeptics are the same to believers. Sometimes I'm not Mr. Sunshine myself. Note I say "some", I'm not making any generalities here, there are very diverse people here. Neither group has room to complain.

And skeptics have perhaps one of the best reasons to be here -- it's in the Science & Math category. According to Yahoo Answers, it was categorized within Science & Math so that scientific answers could be provided to paranormal questions, so skeptics shouldn't be blamed for that. The Paranormal category is a great place to help people understand what is science and what isn't, to help people think logically and systematically, to help people not be afraid of perceived hauntings, and to provide a balance in the answers being provided.

Well first. The paranormal category is a sub category of SCIENCE and mathematics. So right from the start you're asking for scientific answers. When you ask a non scientific question, you may get your a$$ handed to you.

Most of the questions here are not the least bit scientific. Questions like "Can you explain this picture" and so forth get very few sarcastic responses. Questions like "I woke up at night and this ghost told me to the rapture is coming." will get lots of them. This is because it is not even remotely possible to give a logical response to the latter.

It would be nice if people involved in "alternative" science had a better understanding of what science is and is not. There are scientists who study paranormal events, but most of this stuff is just stories that quite frankly strain credulity to the breaking point.

You are about to be descended upon by a  herd of skeptics.  Run!  Go straight to the Society and Culture section and then turn onto the Mythology and Folklore page where skeptics are few and far between.

Additional details:  Just check out Aspudjun and you will see what I am talking about.  And I would like to know where he gets his info.  We can't even prove aliens are out there, and he says they are no where close to us.  How do you know?  It is probably the same way you know there are no ghosts, right?

We are right, and would just like to make fun of your primative minds! Basically paranormal activity leads back to religion, people make fun of those kinds of people too!

I've came across the following phrase to describe Christianity "Because all the works of science cannot equal the wisdom of cattle-sacrificing primatives who thought every animal species in the world lived within walking distance of noah's ark". And I see you guys in the same light.

The fact is, Aliens most likely do exist, but they certainly are nowhere near within contact distance. Since they are most likely million of light years off, only an uneducated fool (like most of you guys) would have the stupidity to believe we were visited by them. You simply watch far too much War of the Worlds.

Edit: Also i was in the science & mathematics section, and you cattle-sacrificing, witch-hunting monkeys seem to think this bullshit is some kind of science. Sorry but they should make a new "stupid" section for anyone who is remotely as idiotic as yourselves.

The people who say things that are mean and insulting usually aren't regulars.  There are these type of people all through YA.  I was in the Cats section a couple days ago, and there were trolls making fun of people who like cats.  If, on the other hand, you think that anyone who offers a reasonable logical explanation for a supposed paranormal event is being insulting, then I doubt there is any way to convince you otherwise and I won't try.

* Not everyone believes because not all have been into situations were this phenomena takes place... until that, there isn't something as "ghosts" for them.

For me,I'm hoping one of you will bring something to the table.I mean,besides telling obviously phony ghost stories and boasts of paranormal adventures.Instead of asking how to do telekinesis.Will someone ever tell us where it's being done?
