  1. molecular motion.  Passive transport does not require metabolic energy, so ATP is not a viable answer.  Passive transport can occur for molecules that have no charge, so differential charges doesn't make sense either.  Don't understand the last one about "used to rearrange the structure of the membrane", but that's not it either.

    It is the energy of motion - kinetic energy of the molecules - that drives passive transport mechanisms of the cells..
