well, its true that past determines the present. we wouldn't want to repeat the same mistake we have done in our past, would we? however, my view regarding present determined by what we want the future to be is a bit contradicting. one should live the life to the fullest and of course not everyone doing it. neither am i. past may determine our present but future is definitely not determined by present alone. a futuristic person actually would consider past as well so that he/she can bring the better values in futures. humans are full desires and it keeps growing. there is no boundary for it. what we in present always not enough and we tend to ask for more. sometimes we may want to return to our past life if the present is a h**l.
