  2. You asked this question that has nothing to do with automobiles. Actually, it does have to do with pilots who fly aircrafts. But pilots shouldn't fit this catagory either, should they?

  3. on the subject of payscale, A pilot just hired with American Airlines makes about 35 dollars an hour flying a 737-800. each pilot is Guaranteed 64 hours a month. on the higher end of the payscale you'll make around 52 an hour.......that's with Southwest. now here's the sticky part. you won't be able to fly for a large airline right out of college.....you'll end up flying a Regional jet or a Turboprop for a company like Atlantic Southeast, Skywest, Horizon, or Mesa (list goes on). starting there you'll make around 15-20 dollars an hour with around the same number of hours a month, that's dirt. BUT when you get hired with a major carrier the big dollars will eventually roll in because a 10 year captain on an international airliner makes a good 200 dollars an hour and is paid 150-200,000 a year........that's pretty good to me. as to what you need to do to become when (i assume your on junior year) SCHOLARSHIPS NOW GO GET THEM. a 4 year degree with flight training costs 100-150k in general. you need money bad (so do I). many carriers are only hiring people with 4 year degrees and as of the moment pilot positions in the major airlines are very competetive. a regional airline doesn't really pay the bills. get good grades take the SAT's and send your applications to Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, University of North Dakota, and Michigan State. Flightcareers.com can get you started for 50 grand with a 2 year degree a commercial liscence and a 95% hire rate with Mesa Airlines.
