If you have ever read the book of Enoch and how he mentions practicing rituals to Yahweh with pentagrams being associated with in it to unlock some sort of spiritual alchemy travel. Could this be where masons get their idea of pentagrams but only associating it with evil?

  1. I don't remember that part.  What chapter/verse?

That's a cool book, btw.  I don't know much about it (factuality, authenticity, etc), but the read was awesome.  It filled in some gaps in the Bible.

  2. I hadn't realized Masons associate pentagrams with evil. I need to read Enoch at some point.

  3. The only Masonic use of a pentagram is in the Order of the Eastern Star, the primarily women's organization within Masonry. That pentagram is a representation of the Star of Bethlehem, depicted in antiquity as a 5 point star with a single point shining down. So no it has nothing to do w/ Enoch or evil or any alchemy- it is out of ancient Christian tradition, and adapted that each point represents a promenant woman out of the Bible.
