The people that do autopsy's how long exactly do you have to go to school to become one yourself? Valy_4?

I think the girl Val_4 can help me with my question I have a little bit of interst in this catagory but I also want to study up on becoming a lawyer too.... so I want to study up on two completely different subjects.... so if anyone ca help me on either one of these or maybe even both please let me kno thanks to everyone who helps me..... =]

If you want to become a pathologist (medical examiner who does autopsies), you'll need a undergrad degree (4 years), an additional four years of specialized medical training (med school), and anywhere from 3-5 years of post-grad training (residency). The American Board of Pathology recognizes two primary specialties, Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology, which both require State Medical Board Certifications.

    If you start an undergrad medical program at a university, talk to your admissions officer and let them know exactly what you're interested in. They will be able to help you determine the right path to get there...
