The perfect start for Red Bull at Interlagos – Sebastian Vettel

Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel is at it again as he finished on top in both practice sessions on Friday. Sebastian obviously admitted that it was the best start, a start every team hopes of having before beginning the race weekend. Everything was working
perfectly for Red Bull with Sebastian Vettel in 1st place and teammate Mark Webber in 2nd place. And on top of that, Sebastian topped the sessions by quite a margin.
Sebastian Vettel was clear by half a second in the first session, while the second session was bit close between the two Red Bulls, but Sebastian was clearly the best driver on the track. However, Vettel is aware that these results don’t matter a lot and
he would have to maintain this performance until the qualifying session.
Formula 1 is more of a mechanical and psychological sport and therefore, Vettel has the edge over his rivals mentally, and this would definitely affect his rivals’ performance later on in the weekends.
Sebastian Vettel is the furthest active championship runner as he is 25 points adrift of the championship leader Fernando Alonso. Fernando is currently leading with 231 points but it seems that he is not looking as strong as his two Red Bull rivals. Mark
Webber on the other hand is just 11 points astray followed by Lewis Hamilton in the McLaren who is 21 points behind the Spaniard.
Jenson Button on the other hand is not looking so well as always and since he is 42 points adrift of the championship leader, he might be mathematically alive in the championship but winning the championship is quite a long shot for him at this point. If
he had just 1 or maybe 2 rivals, then one can consider him as a potential contender. But since there are 4 other contenders who are going much well than the current world champion, there is no way that he can win the title this year.
“I think it was pretty good today - of course it's not the most important thing to be at the top of the timing list today, it's more important tomorrow and Sunday - but it's a good start,” said Vettel.
Sebastian Vettel has been the best qualifier of this season as he scored 9 poles in just 17 races. He is clearly quick enough to challenge his rivals and is without a doubt a future Formula 1 champion. At such a young age, Sebastian has clearly proved that
he is one of the best Formula 1 has to offer.
“The car feels alright, I'm not one hundred percent happy with the balance and think we can improve it, but it's looking okay. I think it's likely to rain tomorrow,” he added.
His teammate Mark Webber on the other hand has been driving safely and consistently this season and secured the best possible points, enabling him to chase the drivers’ standings leader Fernando Alonso. One has to admit that Mark Webber has been in Formula
1 since quite a while and he has more experience than his teammate. Sebastian on the other hand is young and energetic, and therefore, he is more determined than his teammate to win the title even though Mark is in a more comfortable position currently.
“Obviously the track was in a good condition from the outset, so we were able to get down to work. Conditions were good and we made the most of it. We're not too sure what will happen weather-wise, but we're pretty quick and the car works well in all conditions,
so we should be set for a good result,” said Webber.
Mark believes that it was a perfect Friday and his team is going in the right direction.
