The phone just rang, and i didnt feel like answering it, so i just let it ring...screen calls?

OKwell, when it went to teh answering machine it had a little thing that poped up on the phones screen that said "screen" and the button below it you could press to screen the call, waht does this mean? Its a home phone btw.

That should let you listen to a message being left.  I assume the handset is wireless?  So if you are far away from the base and want to hear the message being left, you can press screen.
