The picks for Gala Coral Maidens – Romford Preview
The Open Race of Gala Coral Maidens is scheduled to be held at Romford greyhound racing track on Friday, February 24. The high-profile race of 400m Flat distance will commence at 19:46 (GMT).
The entries for the event include Maggies Rocket, Copeland Robbie, Dooey Maeve, Courts Flyer, Hightop Rebel and Carden Simon. These hounds will compete for £150 of prize money.
Out of the six, Copeland Robbie, Courts Flyer and Maggies Rocket are expected to finish first, second and third respectively in the race.
Below are the career portraits of the trio:
Copeland Robbie
J A White’s Blue dog has bagged two big victories since the dawn of 2012. After winning a race by 3 ½ lengths on January 5, he finished first in his last outing at February 11. Both these successes came at Yarmouth course. During the time between these two
wins, the dog suffered some failures at Hove track.
The son of Collision out of Copeland Pearl is turning out to the Romford ground for the very first time in his short career. He is expected to perpetuate his winning momentum and stand first in tomorrow’s contest.
Courts Flyer
After registering a couple of consecutive victories during November 2011, P Garland’s black b***h won a tough race on February 21, 2012 while running at Romford course for the second time since her debut.
The last outstanding performance by the daughter of Black Shaw out of Clash Quickstep exposed her talent properly. Now, the two-year-old is supposed to show a good run again tomorrow. However, she is likely to finish 2nd
as Copeland Robbie will not let her surpass.
Maggies Rocket
Following her two back-to-back victories during September 2011, the A Ingram-trained fawn b***h won another race in December. In her second last outing on February 2, the veteran runner displayed enough fighting spirit and won by a big margin of 2 ¾ lengths.
As a whole, the daughter of Hades Rocket out of Swift Maggie has not been such an impressive performer in her career. She is supposed to finish 3rd in tomorrow’s contest.
Conclusion
Each of the above favourite trio is carrying sufficient spirit and stamina. Thus, there is going to be a rip-roaring clash at Romford on Friday. Copeland Robbie will have to run to his utmost in order to win the race. Let us see how he struggles for success.
Good luck to all the runners.
