Question:

The pill...possible side effects?

I started using the mini pill about 2 months ago and my period is now due but has not come (I usually have very heavy periods with plenty of warning that it's about to start). I took a pregnancy test yesterday and it was negative. I know that the pill can can cause your periods to become irregular or even stop all together and that this may be why. However I have also been feeling quite nauseous over the last 2 to 3 days. I know I should wait a few more days and test again buts its all I can think about right now. I read on the leaflet that nausea is another side effect of the pill but am wondering if that was the case would this not have occurred sooner if I'd been taken it for 2 months already or is it possible for this side effect to have only just started.

  1. Actually, the pill generally regulates a woman's period, not make it irregular. It makes it very predictable, down to hour sometimes. Nausea can occur at anytime, but is most common when you first start the pill.
