  1. indepents what for a cop it is!like my wife who is a military police cop, they have to!but i'm sure when you ask the cop he will show you!

  2. That depends on the department.  Some departments have policies that the officer is supposed to show you the radar gun, however you do not have some kind of right to see the radar gun.

  3. No. I have to prove to the court that you were speeding, not you.

Generally, if I have a handheld laser or radar unit, I may walk up to the car with the unit and show the person. But I don't always and I am not under any obligation to do so.

It doesn't hurt to ask because some officers may take you back and show you. But most won't and don't be surprised if they say no.

  4. You have no Right to view the radar.

  5. If they showed you the speed that is called locking in the radar and in Maine it is illegal to lock a radar or save the speed possibly because the cop can use the speed for later use on other speeders

  6. No, Police Officers do not have to show you their radar and you don't know if he previously clocked some other speeder and locked the radar.

  7. the police are not required to show you the radar. They do so as a courtesy.

  8. I don't know about that but if they were using radar you have the right to know when the last time the radar was inspected because that can make a difference.

  9. i have no idea i wondered that myself cause I got pulled over for speeding
