The presence of Phil Taylor lights up event at Ulverston
With a crowd of more than 500 people packed up at the Coronation Hall to see the people’s champion, Phil Taylor, manifests the rising popularity graph of the 15-time champion of darts.
In one of the biggest darts exhibition held in South Cumbria, accompanied with his friend and competitor Dennis Priestley, Taylor was received hospitably at the exhibition.
Speaking to media sources, Taylor said that he has never been to Ulverston, but such kind of exhibitions provide valuable opportunity for youngsters to showcase their darts skill on an effective platform.
He expressed, “When you’re at home and practising lots, it’s like living in a birdcage, really. Me and Dennis have worked together lots over the years, and when we do we always have a good laugh and enjoy it”.
Priestley who has been a two-time champion of darts said that with the help of such exhibitions a valuable and talented breed of darts player can be generated and streamlined subsequently.
He further said that is always appreciable and pleasing to see new darts player perform well.
It is also important to mention here that both these players also tested their darts skills with the players, while competing against the youngsters.
With the help of a 103 check out finish against Ulverston’s Carl Botterill, Priestley was able to brilliantly conclude his game.
On the other hand, Taylor came as no less a heavy opponent for the darts player who competed against him.
With the help of a couple of repeated 180’s, he was obviously able to outclass his opponents.
Interestingly, Taylor’s opponent believed that he would provide them a chance to showcase their skill, but what happened was totally contrary to their expectations.
Taylor, during the event, said that with the popularity and fame of the game exceeding all expectations, darts is definitely expanding the web of attracting youngsters in the game.
