How similar would the pressure be comparing Jupiter"s surface pressure to 10,000 meters under the sea.Is the pressure of is Jupiter"s surface pressure greater than under the sea at 10,000 meters

  1. Pressure at what depth? Jupiter does not have a surface you can stand on.

    However, because Jupiter's gravitational field is way more significant than Earth's my guess would be that at some point of depth on Jupiter, the fluid pressure would exceed any pressure level on Earth.


  2. Current theories state the Jupiter doesn't really have a solid surface.

    In 1995, the spacecraft Galileo released a probe into Jupiter's atmosphere.  As the probe descended through 150 kilometers of the top layers of the atmosphere, it collected 58 minutes of data on the local weather and only stopped transmitting when pressure exceeded 23 atmospheres (23 times the surface pressure on Earth).

    That is not very deep, and the pressure was already that high.

  3. Supposition is, that at the core hydrogen could be metallic, due to very hi pressure
