If you are telling us it is...I would have to really disagree....

The Prius gets 45mpg highway, 48mpg city, 46mpg combined.  Those figures are the US government's EPA numbers, using their "new" tests, which tend to be much more accurate to real-world results than the old tests.

It's bigger and safer...than a lot of compact cars.
