If adenosine diphosphate (ADP) becomes adenosine triphosphate, then I guess some kind of phosphorylation happened.  In addition, since burning p**p can be considered oxidation, then I think oxidation must involve the release of energy from energy sources (like p**p).  So, since sugars get broken down in the mitochondrion for energy, and ADP gets turned into ATP in the mitochondrion at the same time, then the answer is A: Chemiosmosis.
