  1. The pronouns like "everyone", "everybody", "someone", "nobody" and "everything" take a singular formation.

Everyone hates me. Nobody loves me. Guess I'll go eat worms. Someone is coming. The worms!  Everything about Dallas sucks!

But few, none, some and most when used in situations like this take the plural.

None are as brilliant when it comes to English grammar as I am.

    Some people are blockheads.

Although most people are stupid, a few are [some are] intelligent like me.

Some people tend to get confused because the word "Everybody" or "Everyone"  sounds like a lot of people, hence should be a plural.

But it is not the case in English and disagreement with the grammar police will result in your disappearance and probable imprisonment at Guantanamo.

So get it right! Or else! Capisce?

These types of words have special significance in logic and in some cases, illogic.

    Example:

    1) Nobody in existence can beat me when it comes to English grammar.

    2) If such a person happened to exist, the world would come to an end and everybody would die in an Apocalypse of epic proportions.

    3) If I speak the truth, the world would be intact and humanity alive and well.

    4) The world is, in fact, intact and humanity continues to exist.

    Conclusion:

I speak the truth! And hopefully there'll never be a better grammarian than I, else humanity will become extinct!

[Actually, the argument is a tautology and essentially ends where it began.]

  2. He/She/It

Everyone is singular, describing each of a group.

  3. Everyone is a pronoun already.

  4. everyone is running.

    everyone likes coffee.
