  1. She was originally based on a doll from Germany, Bild Lilli, which was based on a comic strip.  The character in the comic started off as a baby, but the editor didn't like it, so the comic kept the face, added a ponytail and a curvy body.  there was no particular person that she was designed after.

This cartoon was conceived in 1952, so i don't know what Brainz is talking about...  The comic was about a single woman, who was self reliant, sassy and ambitious and had no reservations talking about s*x.  Later, dolls were made, and sold from 1955-1964.

the creator of Barbie bought a few of these lilli dolls and returned to the states where she produced her own line, and named them after her daugher Barbara.  (and her son Kenneth)

so, i couldn't find any facts to support a living model that she was based on.

  2. The original inspiration for Barbie dolls comes from dolls developed by German propagandists in the late 1930s to impress young girls with the ideal notions of Aryan features. The proportions for Barbie were actually based on those of Eva Braun!!!.

  3. I was told that if Barbie were an actual person they wouldn't be able to stand or anything. It's not possible for someone to be proportioned like a Barbie

  4. actual my facs teacher did this lesson and if barbie were a real person she would not be able to stand up or pretty much do anything. her waist is too small that it would actual kill her so no girl in this world is like barbie.
