Im trying to convince my parents to let me get one because i think they are gorgouse dogs, pretty rare where i am, and just seem so playful and nice if raised correctly..so i was wondering what are all the pro's and con's from actual owners, i know its not a retriever but i still don't think its a bad dog to own please help out.

  1. the fact you have to convince your parents means you just to young to have one right now

  2. Dogo's were specifically bred to hunt wild boar in Texas, they are a mix of 8 different breeds of dog.  They are a working dog, yes, they are good pets due to the "boxer" in them, but seriously wouldn't recommend one as simply a family dog.

If this is your first dog, I wouldn't recommend a Dogo as a "first dog" stick to your more easier trainable common breeds as Dogos require an experienced handler.

  3. they are on the dangerous dogs act

  4. Well they are working dogs so if you get one and don't exercise it properly it will develop behavioral problems. If you don't have any previous experience with a working dog I would not suggest getting a Dogo Argentino. They are a fairly new breed that was created to help hunt wild boars. They are fearless and not a dog meant for first time dog owners and not meant for city living.

  5. All of the ignorant pit bull haters will be blackmailing you because it looks like a pit bull.

    they are good dogs
