What are the roles of each?

What are the average salaries of each?

And hypothetically speaking, let's say that mob in New York was about to conduct a raid in the wee hours of the night. And let's also suppose that a single, well-equipped person tried to intervene this from occurring. Finally, let's suppose the police intercepted, and all parties involved had to go to court.

Which attorney would be reponsible for handling the case of the individual who tried to intervene? Why?

  1. The Feds would do the whole show. Racketeering is a Federal crime. as for the salary, they are paid good but less than a lawyer.

  2. The District Attorney is the person elected or appointed to run a District Attorney.  The DA is the person who heads the office.  He or she has lessor attorneys under them that do the prosecuting.  It is done in the DA's name.   I was a prosecutor in Southern California for 19 years.  I was what is called a Deputy District Attorney.  There are many pay levels, that run from about $50,000 to $175,000.  A prosecutor would handle the trial of the case, any and all of those involved.  A prosecutor decides what to file.  What to offer.  In most cases the DA is not involved.
