I don't find this entirely true, both consoles are really equal in terms of power and ability, though they do lack any serious credit against a dedicated gaming computer. each unit has there flaws but also they are very the same in hardware terms. I suppose it really depends on the games being run and who designed them. However sony did smart out when it comes to microsoft in one way. The xbox requires paid membership and wired network connection to play online and lacks HDMI, sony is free and the PS3 features both wired and wireless network connections which is more ideally suited to the people who play the console at home and have a basic wireless router and has HDMI.

However in attitude the xbox beat the Ps2 in power not in games libary, but the Ps3 beat the 360 in power but not in games libary.

It will always be masterchief vs Solid Snake.....

PS3 has a better processor, it'll take a while for it to take hold - there arn't enough games.  Also more expensive.

360 games are cheaper and more consoles are sold already.  Lots more second hand items on the market (link below - to compare)

they sell to the same market, so it'll be which is the new DVD format - blue ray or HD-DVD (think it'll be blue-ray).
