Okay, my boyfriend (a minor) lied to the cops about how his friends snuck into his old abandoned house and told them that his parents said it was ok.

And obviously his parents didn't think so, and they are pressing charges on his friends parents. What is the worst that could happen to him?

  1. Castration

  2. His parents could sue for Defamation of Character, or Libel.

And if he gave the information to the police, it is public record, therefore his parents would have a strong case.

Criminally, I doubt he would be arrested.

  3. His friends will think he has candy-a$$ parents

  4. you could be arrested, but if they find out that you lied and they give you the chance to make it right, you had better then or you will go to jail.

  5. You can’t get a “Lying” ticket from police, but you can get charged for giving false information in REPORTING  a crime. This one is between your boyfriend and his parents and what the parents may impose on him…other than that, he didn’t commit a crime.

If the friends of his go to trial and your boyfriend testifies and doesn’t tell the truth on the stand, that’s a different scenario and he could be charged with perjury.
