  1. Loved it.  Helen Mirren doesn't much resemble Elizabeth

physically -- but, as for attitude, mannerisms, character, etc.,

she absolutely nailed the part.  I also liked James Cromwell

as Philip.  Sylvia Sims was also very good. The actor who

played Charles was poorly cast -- both in terms of looks and

acting ability.  Tony Blair's character was utterly redeemed

by a speech late in the film.  Cherie Blair was absolutely

loathsome (as she is in real life).

    A thoroughly entrancing film.

    To Chav:

Yes, I think Elizabeth has been "steadfast and fearless" on

every occasion throughout her life -- qualities that she

    undoubtedly learned from her father.

  2. I've seen it about three times now and i must say that the way Helen Mirren depicted the queen was quite unique. Now that they have made a movie about the queen, they should make a proper hollywood movie called DIANA.

  3. not yet...I've been meaning to.....

  4. never seen it no opinion heard about it never wanted to watch it . mabey now i will go rent it to just check it out

  5. It was good. Well acted, of course there is no real way of knowing how accurate it was as those who were there aren't talking.

  6. The acting done by Helen Mirren is absolutely superb!  It is a brilliant movie and well worth watching but one must ask if the Queen is really that steadfast and fearless, especially in the aftermath of Diana.
