  2. jtexas has it about right - although his low number might be high, and his high number could easily be low...

What do you want? A 23 foot boat? or A boat for 5 people?

Do you want power or sail?

Where and how do you plan to use the boat?

I think you need to re-think and re-ask your question...

1st. Think of "where" you want to use the boat.

Salt water, fresh water, inland lake, river etc...

2nd. Think about "what" you want to be able to do with it.

day time boating? spend the night on it? weekends maybe?

           fish? ski? tubing? sailing?

3rd. Think of "who" is going to be on it with you "most of the time".

           Friends, relatives, any kids?

Think of your boat as a "tool" - most importantly - you want the "right tool" for the job... Most 1st time boaters buy one, and then quickly determine they bought the wrong "kind" for what they really want to do and for where they really want to go. You don't want to make this costly mistake... So, give it much thought...Go to a Marina, look around at other boats, talk to other boaters... Maybe take a sailing lesson or two... Believe me, you'll be glad you did. While nothing is better then owning the "right" boat, nothing can be worse then owning the "wrong" kind of boat.

Just think about it Columbus... Why else would God have made the world round, if he didn't want us to sail around it?

    Happy & Safe Boating!
