The "moral" VP for the "family values" party?

Sarah Palin can't even raise her own family decently, and now she wants to be second in command for the highest office in the land? And to top it off, she states that she's PROUD of her daughter? Give us all a break! If she's not disappointed in her daughter getting pregnant at 17, what WILL disappoint her?

Once again, the hypocrisy of the Republican party shines brightly.

I think the hypocrisy is brighter than the sun, in this instance. Now they are calling democrats sexist (what a hoot). Oh well the repubs got what they wanted control of this news cycle. I just didn't think they would be so oblivious that the rabbit they pulled out of there hat is actually a skunk painted white like a rabbit.

That is something all parents of girls worry about.  Boys too for that matter.  Other than locking them up in a cage until they are graduated from high school, there is little way to stop our teenage girls from having life happen.  That's life.  What good would it do to shame her daughter?  I think Palin has her priorities straight.  Some people in her position would have hustled their daughter off to the abortion clinic and wipe it out of existance.  Instead, this woman is thinking of the love she has for her family.  I give her credit for that.

Palin just gave birth to a downs syndrome child just four short months ago.  It never ceases to amaze me the lack of compassion we have to show people in public life.  Especially when they are talking about politics.  Its no wonder politicians become greedy and self interested rather than in trying to do what is best for the country.

No hypocrisy.  No one is abandoning their pregnant daughter, they are supporting her.  No one has decided to tear the limbs off of an unborn child and call it choice.  They are beautiful family, and an example of how a real family deals with real issues in today's world.

This is actually a serious point that you raise. Politicians do need to be credible, and whilst an electorate will be forgiving in some areas, that tends not to be the case when their core values are tarnished. The accusation that can be put to Ms Palin is whether she has chosen her career over the needs of her family. Not once but twice. The question will be asked, when the answer is already known. It is unfortunate, but this will affect her politically for years to come.

She stated she's proud of her daughter's choice to *keep* the baby instead of having an abortion, and because she wants to show support for her during a difficult time in her life. Would you be happier if she talked badly about her and threw her out? Of course not. Well, maybe you would...
