The "sort by Date" is not working?

I created a 9 column grid on my database for scheduling. The first column is "date" it give me an arrow to sort, It sorts, but not accurately. I tried day month year, day month, dy/mo/2007. Nothing is working. What is the secret?

~Is it sorting the months Alphabetically, or is sorting by the date first, then month?

Try reformatting your data by right clicking on the cells and choose Format.  You may want to choose Month/Date/Year for the formatting, then try sorting again.
